The BULATS computer test

The BULATS computer test is specially developed for the business world. It tests three of the four skills required to operate successfully in an international setting: listening, reading and writing. The test is adaptive, checking the level of knowledge and then selecting questions which are appropriate to that level. The computer test continues to ask questions until a consistent language level is measured. The duration of the test is therefore not fixed, but will not be longer than 75 minutes. BULATS is available for English, German, French and Spanish.

BULATS was developed by Cambridge University (ESOL) in collaboration with three prestigious European languages institutes: the de Alliance Française, the Goethe Institut and the Universidad de Salamanca. This guarantees the accuracy, reliability and objectivity of each test.

The BULATS test report is available as soon as the test is complete. The report expresses the final result in terms of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF).

The BULATS computer test is directly available, both stand-alone, on a network and, soon, in a web-based environment.
