Sworn Translations

The authorities sometimes demand sworn translations of official documents in a foreign language. Such documents include notarial acts, Register Office documents, diplomas, certificates and judgements and all kinds of documents that serve as evidence in a legal case.

What is a sworn translation?

A sworn translation is a translation which is authenticated by a translator sworn before a court for a particular language combination (on the grounds of training and experience). The translator thereby authenticates the translation by securely attaching it to the original, stating that in his or her opinion it is correct and complete, and signing and stamping the declaration.

The use of a sworn translator is not a guarantee of linguistic quality. Many excellent translators are not sworn translators. Language Partners will be happy to arrange for its outstanding translators (sworn or not, as you prefer) to translate your documents.
